Poll question: If You Were The General Manager Of An NBA Franchise...
Which player would you start your team with?

I'll give you a great player from every position and you tell me which you'd start your team with.

1. Point Guard - Jason Kidd
2. Shooting Guard - Kobe Bryant
3. Small Forward - Amarie Stoudamire
4. Power Forward - Kevin Garnett
5. Center - Shaq

Which player do you start your franchise with?

For me, I go with Kidd, and not just because I'm a Nets fan. I think you have to get a good point guard in order to build a great team. Obviously the center position is important, but Shaq is on the downside of his career and will probably be retired within the next three years.

Garnett is a monster, but he can't carry a team like Kidd can.

And nobody knows how great Kobe would be if he didn't have Shaq with him. Maybe he'd just be a great scorer on a bad team like Tracy McGrady is.

So who are you going with? Feel free to name your own player if you have someone better.

1. Ahem...T-I-M D-U-N-C-A-N
A good person, never causes trouble, a great player to boot.

If I were starting a team, I'd go with Duncan or Garnett, who seems to be another decent fellow. It's easier to build a team around a dominant big man in the NBA.

3. Just starting a team?
I'll have to go with LeBron James. Sure, he's young, but he's got the talent to be a superstar for many years to come. You're right about Shaq, and I have a feeling Kobe may not be in the league much longer, either.
