7. Mmm...roast it on a spit... |

over an open fire. Use the scanner as kindling for a smokey, almost mesquite grilled, taste.

Garlic mashed potatoes ARE sooo goood. I am almost hesitant to go back to the plain kind. :-)
As for the chicken, I am not sure my Cheerios will work, as versatile as they are...

on them into itty bitty bits...
I also love mashed potatoes with melted gruyere cheese and wilted spinach in it. Oh, and if you want cholesterol city, just add some cheddar cheese and bacon to those mashed potatoes.

So I can make the sacrifice... but usually just some butter and coarse-ground black pepper sends me into tater nirvana.

12. have you ever tried lemon pepper? It gives it a good kick |
|
I've also experimented with the coarse level of black pepper, and I prefer it coarse to being finely ground.

13. the coarser the better! |

I have tried lemon pepper, which is handy, but what I usually do is baste it with olive oil and generous amounts of lemon juice mixed together, lots of garlic and coarse pepper too, and I also inject the concoction under the skin (food injectors are one of the coolest gadgets ever).
Oh, and some rosemary never hurt.

You can marinate boneless chicken in the same fashion, 4-6 hours or overnight, and it will taste pretty good. Plenty of lemon, plenty of olive oil, garlic, pepper, perhaps some sage too, rosemary... experiment with your favorites.

in the fridge at all times. You can gnaw on one of those things for days. Just the thing for a hunger emergency.
