3. "China Moon" and "3 Margaritas"
In Pueblo, CO. It depends if we're in the mood for Chinese or Mexican food.

Also the Outback Steak House in Colorado Springs.

4. Here's the regular lunch rotation of places...
Edited on Thu Sep-04-03 11:06 AM by GOPisEvil
1. Chango's Taqueria - burritos the size of a baby's head and delicious!
2. Threadgill's - homestyle southern cooking, an Austin classic.
3. Tam's Vietnamese Deli and bakery - Best. Vietnamese Food. Ever. (the banh sanwiches are to die for - the freshest French rolls!)
4. Bangkok Cuisine - Thai buffet! :9
5. Upper Crust Bakery - great sandwiches and the best carrot cake on the planet.
6. Amaya's Taco Village - outstanding enchiladas.
7. Pyramids - Wonderful Mediterranean food!

Also throw in: Chuy's (if only for busting Jenna Bush - the food's good too), Guero's taco bar (Big Dog's favorite Austin restaurant), Curra's grill (interior Mexican cuisine), Kerbey Lane Cafe (pancakes, OMG the pancakes)...

I'll stop now, I am getting HUNGRY!!! :D

Trudy's isn't bad, but I've never eaten there - only drank!

If I have to live in TX, I'm glad it's here. :D

Upper Crust is only a few blocks from my office. You're gonna have carrot cake while I'm here being good. :P

Oh, and you should consider heading further north on Burnet sometime and trying La Victoria. Nice little Mexican bakery. They make really good gingerbread piggies. :-)

Bangkok Thai for, you guessed it, Thai food.
Wendy's II for Vietnamese. The owner, Wendy Au, is a gorgeous woman, smart, savvy business owner, and impeccable hostess. The Mongolian Beef is to die for. And they sell Bubble Tea, too!

11. Not anymore.
The only decent restaurant in the cultural backwash in which I reside recently changed owners, and the new folks really screwed it up. There was a superb restaurant about 30 miles down the road, but it burned down and never re-opened.

L'il Vinny's (awesome Italian food in Somerville's Magoun Square). Our favorite, reasonable Italian restaurant.

Chez Henri (Cuban/French fusion food, excellent Mojitos, in between Harvard and Porter Squares in Cambridge)

Changsho(wicked awesome Chinese in Cambridge's Porter Square)

Central Kitchen (small, excellent menu and good wine list in Cambridge's Central Square)

Gargoyle's (excellent, eclectic food and drink in Somerville's Davis Square)

And our cheapie faves:
La Hacienda: actually Italian, great homemade pizza, on Cambridge/Somerville border

Santarpio's: in East Boston near airport. If anyone is ever passing through Boston's Logan and has time to kill, take a taxi here for an excellent pizza!

New Bridge Cafe: a dump in Chelsea with excellent steak tips

Punjabi Dhaba: excellent Indian takeout in Cambridge's Inman Square

Bambino's: when we get out to the 'burbs, we go here for great pizza, salads, and Italian specialties.

23. Rosie's: pizza delivered to your table in two hours or less
Rosie doesn't give you a menu. You are supposed to know what's on it when you go in: pizza, spaghetti and salads. She'll tell you the price when you leave. All Rosie's foods are prepared while you wait, so be prepared to wait. It is worth it. The salads are loaded with garlic, olives and cheese. The spaghetti and meatball (singular) in devine. However, it is the pizza that brings people back for the worst service in town. The delicate thin crust has been prepared beforehand by frying it in olive oil. It is then topped with Rosie's homemade sauce, a Colby type cheese and the toppings of your choice. We make the trip at least once a week. The garlic keeps us healthy. Recommendation: Stay away. I have to wait long enough as it is.

28. The Aegean--excellent Greek food (I love to eat Greek)
Great prices, lots of food, right down the street; unfortunately a very long wait for a table.

Also like to get take-out at Demos--two skewers of shish kebab, Greek salad, rice pilaf and pita bread--for under 10 bucks.

29. In DC proper
Mexican - Mextec in Adams Morgan

Middle Eastern - Mama Ayesha's in Adams Morgan

BBQ - Capital Q (Texas Style) Excellent BBQ but I'm slowly losing my interest due to some of the worst service I've ever seen in any restaurant. It's counter style ordering and the counter help is without exception rude and act like they'd rather be anywhere else.
