I swear, if I didn't have a shelf full of good music and good books to escape into, I really don't think I'd be able to deal with having our faces rubbed in George Bush's shit.
Tonight I believe I'll start reading "The Lord Of The Rings" again. I've never actually finished the trilogy, and I think now is the perfect time to do it...

and how it applies... only our Aragorn just decided to
concede to the Dark Lord, and I'm not sure we HAVE a Frodo
marching to Mt. Doom, but if we did, he/she is not getting
any help from the Dems (no token charge to the gates of Mordor
to distract the Dark Lord, blah blah blah).
After you get done with LOTR, get a copy of "Bored of the Rings"
and read all about the adventures of Dildo Baggins.

Gilmore Girls Season 2 DVD available in December, check.

I have probably a hundred hours of anime to watch and three shelves of unread books. I'm set until well into next year.
As for my newsjunkieness? Well, without Air America life would really suck news-wise, but I can still get a liberal news fix from there and the occasional CSPAN show.
Look at it this way--at least we know the date that Bush is leaving office for sure now. (I refuse to believe that they'd try for a third term.)
