Military Vets - a question
I'm doing a huge section on local war vets. This one gentlemen was telling me a story of when he was stationed in a place where you basically wait to be sent to the front. He couldn't remember what it was called.

Anyone know?

7. Repple Depple - Army slang for 'replacement depot'.
That or 'holding area', which is a little too by-the-book for me. I always liked laconic GI slang, instead of authorized terminology. Hope that helps.
