Interesting....half in blue and half in red both ones I've visited and ones I've lived. No wonder I feel so centrist.

Haven't been to Hawaii or Alaska and missed out on most of the secessionist Deep South.

3. Not Many
Alaska (Now), Michigan (Born), Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, Florida. For actual visiting purposes. I have also changed planes or driven through Colorado, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Georgia, and any other states between Kentucky and Florida. I'm sorry, I don't remember and the closest thing to a map I have is the United States of Texas.

Got to find a reason to go to the Dakotas. Alaska and Hawaii are easier on the eyes but in a Bush economy, can't afford the trips.

I'm at 49, still missing Hawaii.

Don't really think that belongs with the 50ers, any more than the 16-1 or 18-1 NFL teams deserve the lore of the 17-0 Dolphins of '72.

But I've been to 24 other countries. Europe has lot's of them.

45. My opinion is that the former counts and the latter doesn't.
When you drive through a state -- you SEE that state. You get to gawk at the scenery. You interact with the locals at the gas station and the McDonalds. You get a reasonable taste of what that state is actually like. But all airports are basically alike.

Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia, which brings me up to 16.

Pennsylvania and Virginia I thought were the prettiest. I love the mountains. Speaking of McDonald's, the McDonald's that we stopped at in Pennsylvania was on top of a very large hill. It was so weird. You could most of the town from the McDonald's.

44. States I've visited.
Edited on Tue Nov-09-04 03:25 PM by Zing Zing Zingbah
Of course I've driven through a lot of states on the way to one state, but I've not going to count those states. I'm only counting the states I've actually spent some time in.

1. Maine - Born there, grew up there, lived there for 23 years. It's my real home. I'll always be a Mainer no matter where I live.

2. New Hampshire - Visited several times because my dad grew up there. I love the White Mountains National Park.
3. Vermont - Visited a few times. This is a great state too. It's a lot like Maine. I love the lack of strip malls in this state.

4. New York - Only visited upstate New York, not New York city area, which is much different. We went across Lake Placid from Vermont on a ferry to get there. That was pretty neat.

5. Massachusetts - Been to Boston several times. We used to go to Boston on school trips a lot, like to the Science Museum or some thing. I visited several times while in college too, since a lot of my high school buddies went to school at a college in the Boston area.

6. Minnesota - Visited there a few times as a kid. The last time I was there I was 16. My mom grew up there, so I've got tons of family there. I always love visiting there. I love my mom's home town. It's a great community.

7. Wisconsin - Went there whenever I was visiting Minnesota. My mom's hometown was just across the Mississippi River from Wisconsin. It seemed pretty much like Minnesota to me.

8. Florida - Where I'm living now. I've almost been here for three years now, and this will be my last year here. I'm not too fond of this place.

9. Alabama - One state I never thought I'd visit. I spent labor day weekend there trying to avoid hurricane Frances. It wasn't too exciting, but it was sunny.
