Tomorrow, I will order my imac G5!!! |
|
Finally, after months of waiting for it to debut, plus lot of hard work on the job and saving my hard earned money...I will order my imac G5 tomorrow afternoon :bounce:
It will be the combo drive 17 inch model--yes I know the Superdrive would be the shit, but to be honest..I don't have THAT much data to burn on even ONE dvd  Besides, mine will have 512 MB of RAM built in, so I'll used the saved money from not getting the Superdrive for an iSight..qnd one Mac game (I'll pick up my copy of Halo 2 tomorrow morning, then give the iMac at CommpUSA a quick test drive).
For those DUers who know me, yes I was going to Japan..was. But that will have to wait--those Christmas time airfares were outrageous! But I will visit Japan next spring :-)
But now, I'm still tired, and Il be going to bed. I cn dream about what dvd to buy for that 17 inch widescreen too! Maybe Ghost In The Shell, Stand Alone Complex volumes 1 and 2!

Here are some tips.
1.) get as much memory in as you can afford. This wil speed it up more than anything.
2.) Go into systems control panel and go to energy saver and set the cpu processor to high instead of automatic this will speed up the processor. You may here the fans kick on a little more than usual but it will give it a big perfomancr boost.
3.) When Tiger arrives install it on there to take advantage of the 64 bits

3. Don't buy your extra memory from Apple... |
|
Get your ram via some other source, like www.dealram.com. The ram from apple is waaaaaayyyy too expensive.

but I'm going to have a discont on the iMac (shh!) which will make the extra RAM almost free. If I had optioned for the wireless keboard, mouse and Airport card, I could save more. But I don't need Bluettoth.

8. The Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse Are Great |
|
I bought them for my G5 just to check out, and they've been awesome... ever since the firmwarre updates that is.
Now that I can use them with my 12" powerbook it's even better, since I all I have to do to start using them is turn them on. MUCH easier than before.
