Fucked up dream that is still bothering me...
Ihad this dream a few nights ago and it is still bugging me and I don't know why.
There was this person, a man, it's too vague, I couldn't tell you much more. White, older than me. who was telling me that I had to perform some seemingly "undo-able" task... I can't realy remember what it was.
BUT the horrible part was that if I couldn't do it, he was going to put my beloved kitty Spooky in a bag with a rattle snake. Obviously I couldn't do it and I woke up in a cold sweat after he put spooky in the bag and I heard his wails of pain.
Spooky was of course sleeping safely next to me when I woke, I'm sure he wondered what all of the hugging and kissing was in the middle of the night.

WHY CAN'T I SHAKE THIS?

6. Okay... just remember when you're doing dreamwork...
... you're everything in the dream.

So, it's not about your cat. You are the cat, you are the man, you are the snake.

Now, what in your life seems "undo-able"?
What innocent part of you (the kitty cat) is at risk from a more knowledgeable (snake) part of you? What would you sacrifice to your innocence to?
Why are you afraid of losing your innocence to your knowledge?

Just work on the parts.
You don't need a book of symbols or a "how to" guide to work on dreams. You know somewhere inside yourself.
If you settle and consider, you'll "get" the dream.

Good luck!

p.s. I used to present workshops on dream work. Part of my dissertation concerns symbols and personal mythology.
