Lobster, crab, shrimp. I don't like mussels or oysters though.

1. Oysters I'm neutral about. |
|
But mussels and clams are good. Except I don't understand the obsession with serving them in the shell. Would it really violate some important standard of taste to shell them before serving?

I was raised on the blue crab. I also love raw oysters on the half shell. They have to be very fresh and just shucked but can't be better.
My mother loved shell fish all her life and then became allergic to them when she was in her 60s. I'm going to eat them and enjoy them as long as I can.

shellfish! Enhance your diet: oysters are great, and mussels can be prepared so that they are at least acceptable.

5. The new farm raised mussels ROCK. If you find a good supplier, |
|
(give the mussels a sniff---they should smell like the ocean) you can get GREAT mussels that don't taste like manure.
I cook 'em up with white wine and butter and garlic, and they are so sweet and good. Just excellent.
Bad mussels are icky.

Try dipping steamed mussels into a cocktail sauce thats at least 50% horseradish. So spicy and tasty.
