The early rounds are tough, though, because there are so many people. I already have a few groups to dislike, which is enough to keep me coming back.

9. Excellent study in communications.... |
|
Amazing Race shows how people communicate and interact.
Between people who know each other and between people with diverse backgrounds, the winning strategy is to navigate the communication barriers that race people encounter.
The Entrepreneur couple will fail if they fight like that all the time. We may not be seeing if they can work well with others. Last race, the infamous Colin and Christie fought all the time, but at the airports were excellent in getting the best flights, that was their secret to their success. But Chip and Kim did a great job of working together and working with the locals that gave them an advantages that helped them win the million dollars.
The game is really 10% luck, 10% athletics, 40% team communications and 40% airport or local area navigation. No reason why even the grandparents team could win a leg. If you look carefully at everyone is eliminated when a moment occurs when they failed to communicate properly locally or with each other about abilities. Occasionally the luck and athletics issue does come into play, in detour segments, never take "safe".

I've noticed this all along. Teams that communicate well seem to have a very successful run (unless luck comes into play, ex: flight gets delayed/cancelled)

for the teams that are the sweetest to each other. Like the old couple last night, he kept calling her "love" that was cool. Also the team that came in first at the pit stop are really respectful of each other. That guy that was always yelling at his wife (the blonde) is a complete dick! I hope they lose, she goes home and gets a divorce. What I always think is, do they know the guys they are with are that big of a dicks before they come on the show or does it just bring it out more than usual. You'd think they'd get a clue afterwards but Colin got Christie to marry him.

11. Yeah I love that show! |
|
The host was on a talkshow last week saying that this season they have the loudest couple (the pro wrestlers) they have ever had. The sound crew actually had to make adjustments for them because they're so loud. I laughed so hard when they all pull up to the tents on the iceberg and the wrestlers ( a man and his wife) pulled off their coats and started wrestling. I mean REALLY wrestling.

14. A lot of bickering this year... |
|
... between couples... I guess that makes for good ratings... The all-time champs of bickering-couples though, has to go to Zack and Flo... Or maybe just Flo? Remember them?
And I'm still not over Charla and Mirna being eliminated and then the very next week, the annoying twins saved by a non-elimination... Urrghhh....
My daughter laughs at me when I tell her I want to go on the show... I want to go on just to prove her wrong... I was reading through their contracts a few months ago and was surprised to learn that you have to sign off on suing The Amazing Race, should you die or be seriously injured during the course of the game...
