GD has become a fucking circus.
You know, if I wanted to watch the party self destruct while the trolls look on and chortle, I'd have stayed on the boards at SLATE. Why don't people just email their filth about this Democrat or that one DIRECTLY to the RNC and eliminate the middleman? That's the worst part: all of the dirty laundry in public.

1. That's an insult to the circus! |

People are people, and all the appeals to them to halt the crap have not had an effect. I suggest we let them vent and simply ignore their threads.

3. It's VERY hard to ignore dropping trou and shitting on the sidewalk. |

Especially when they've finished, they stand there and scream, "SEE, SEE!"
GOD I am so depressed.

2. It's pathetic and it's driving me crazy.... |

When I go in and see people posting about how bad Wesley Clark is and their only rationale is because he is taking attention away from and getting in the way of Howard Dean, I wonder whether or not everyone's criticisms of my party are more accurate than I'd like to believe. I try telling myself that GD on DU is such a small microcosm and not indicative of the general populus but it's hard.

GD makes the Meeting Room look sane and rational lately. But I guess it's a growth phase. Some people just have to vent. We'll move beyond it at some point.
Meanwhile, I'm staying out of there.

5. I wish I was that optimistic. |

I have watch forums and boards factionalize and self destruct, it's just that the stakes are bigger now.
I realize we aren't going to decide the primaries or the election here with our cheap rhetoric, but why why WHY to we have to do the RNC's work for them? With the net's infomining, all they have to do is google and our shit comes up. Better yet, just lurk in GD 24/7 and you don't even have to google.

they fight over the candidates and yell and scream and carry on, but then someone will post something to the effect of "I think we should all get along and just agree that we will support anyone who opposes Bush in the election". Then everyone posts in agreement. A few minutes later, they are back fighting amongst themselves again. This cycle happens about three times a day. I started out going in there all the time. Then I found the Lounge.

Are the brain damaged morons who can't find the word "solidarity" in the dictionary, and defend to the death their "right" to behave like spoiled children.
