There's one, in a glass jar, but I don't remember the name.
It's really good.
Get two.

3. Also, the new Pillsbury refrigerated pie crust is passably good. |
|
It comes rolled up in a container like their cinamon rolls. Two crusts to a package. I tested it today with a pumpkin pie and it tasted pretty good actually.

5. I used that the other day |
|
The edge of the crust turned out so hard you could almost break a tooth on it. I'd rather fix my own pie crust. :hi:

that pie crust sucks. go to the freezer section for pet-ritz with lard!
and the gravy question. oy vay. i wouldn't even deeign to try anything. i go to a butcher for good meat and make my own. helps that i have my old magic pot. 1920's cast iron chicken pot. and for best gravy, you must reduce!

4. I use McCormick......it's in a small packet |
|
They have different flavors....chicken,turkey,beef.....I fix the best baked steak with the beef flavor. I dredge my (either round or cube) in flour, fry it until it's brown, place it in a baking dish and prepare my gravy from the packets as directed, pour it over my steaks and bake it at 350%. Serve it with mashed potatoes and frozen green peas, slaw or salad and dinner rolls or french bread and boy do you have a MEAL! Mmmmmmm :9

9. Lipton makes a good one |
|
It comes in a 1 lb. bag, makes a gallon of gravy. I use it for catering all the time. I live in Canada, but I assume they sell it in the US too, though you might have to check around to places that cater to food service people. Costco doesn't carry it, at least not here.
The gravy is great, I use it at home all the time. I whisk 2 tbs per cup of water, put on the heat, and by the time it boils, it's gravy. Low fat, too. It comes in chicken and beef, and you can make turkey gravy by mixing a little beef into the chicken. Hunt it down, it's worth it!
Interested Canadians: I buy it at Real Canadian Wholesale Club, it's about $4.50 a bag. Compare that with the little envelopes you get at the supermarket.
The same-sized packages of Knorr gravy are also at RCWC, a little more expensive, but you can throw the mix right into boiling water without it lumping up. I rather prefer the taste of the Lipton, though.

10. aawww gravy is so easy |
|
pan drippings, maybe a little more "grease" (bacon, oil, butter, whatever) flour and liquid - no more time than ripping open a package or scraping out a jar - and finding you have to "fix" it with pan drippings and maybe a little more "grease"
