Edited on Fri Sep-26-03 04:22 PM by manco
I know I'm going to regret this, given the number of Sox fans on this board...Go Yanks!

5. Sim Leagues
Interesting concept. After the "regular" season ends I think I'll look into that. Thanks.

PS: Yankees. You either love them or hate them. I grew up in NJ and was a Yankee fan (still am)all my life. I stuck with them through the "CBS" years. Not easy for a Yankee fan.

3. I hate...
Edited on Fri Sep-26-03 04:28 PM by VelmaD
the Yankees on principle and I hate the A's cause they're in the same division as my Rangers. I wouldn't be disappointed to see the Twins do well. But I'm pulling for the Sox to break that curse.

4. The Yankees
They're still #1. But I would almost like to see them get beaten by an underdog like the Red Sox.

9. Underdogs?
yeah.. maybe the bosox are seen as underdogs because they're perennial losers... but they're (by far) the best hitting team in baseball this year. Who cares, they're cursed.

14. Oh, please
Cut it out with the Yanks buy their team crap. ALL teams spend as much as they can. Just so happens that Yanks have more of it.

And they're the only team that pays a luxury tax.

15. The Twins
have the least costly payroll in the major leagues. Winning their division took pure guts. They don't buy their way to the top like the Yankees do.

16. True...
And it might be nice to see a team like the Twins win. Most of their players came from their own farm system and the team has been rebuilding patiently and their time to win has possibly come.

17. that's a happy thought...
but a clueless comment nonetheless. any team would spend as much $ as the yanks if they had it.. including your beloved Twins.

18. Damn right!
People don't get that the Yanks are in the #1 media market in the country. Of course they have a lot of money. And who is #2 on the list? That's right, the Mets.

19. But the point is
they don't have the money and they got where they are without it. These guys are putting out 150 percent because they love the game — not because they have to make payments on the Ferrari.
