Simpsons: Are Carl and Lenny gay? |
|
It sure seems like it, but they may not be as "out" as Smithers. Has this ever been addressed on the show?

1. According to Behind the Laughter... |
|
... Bart paid them $1000 to make out... and they never got the money.

2. Not yet, they still need to keep that plot idea open for a later season |
|
Gotta keep the stories coming until Spring 2005, ya know! That's what they're under contract to!

They just hang out. They're no more gay than Hank, Dale, Bill, and Boomhauer.

6. at the very least, they're in non-sexual love |
|
Over the years, it seems to me that they get closer and closer to 'outing' Carl and Lenny... probably before they go off the air they will, that is my bet.

8. Why is it so hard for us to understand non-sexual love between guys? |

I love several of my male friends. Not sexually, not romantically. I love them just the same.
Here in the US it's hard for a man to admit he 'loves' another man because it's taboo even when it's not meant in a sexual way. That's also why it's hard for many men to say they love their fathers. It's just 'not done'.

9. The only ones we know for sure are gay |
|
are Rod and Todd Flanders :)
Remember the episode with the future vision of Lisa as President and Flanders thanking Bart for not outing Rod and Todd :) :) :)
Hell even Smithers we're not positive (he just dresses well and has a flair for interior design).

11. C'mon, I think we're pretty sure about Smithers. |
|
There have been some extremely strong indications. And he's in love with Mr. Burns, isn't he?
(Disclosure: I haven't watched the show regularly for a number of years, so my opinions stem from much older shows, and do not account for things that have happened in recent years.)
