Anyone have a vacuum-press coffeemaker? |
|
Wanna know what NOT to do with it? :eyes:
I got through the actual making of the coffee ok...but when it finished I was unsure how to make the seal un-vacuum. The wiggling and such I was doing wasn't doing the trick. So being the brilliant problem solver that I am, I open the top thingy and pull on the ring/filter, thinking that would break the suction.
Nu-uh.
I am immediately showered with boiling hot coffee grounds, and the aforementioned success with the actual making is completely undone. Still, I am typing this fueled by a cup of it's chunky, crunchy caffienated goodness, so all's well. :7

This contraption has like a bowl that goes over the pot and vacuum seals onto it. You put the coffee in the bowl thingy, then the water boils in the pot, goes up into the bowl, brews a minute or so, then drains back down into the pot. Sorta the same, but not. ;)

5. I've got that one as well |

I clean it in the sink before removing the filter - less work than cleaning the whole kitchen.

Yeah, me too...from now on, that is. I didn't intentionally spray the entire kitchen and myself with coffee grounds, it was a case of *operator error* (i.e. not being smarter than your coffee pot). :D
