I saw School of Rock last night..... |

Regardless of how you feel about Jack Black (I like him but I can see how he would wear on people's nerves) this movie was totally a feel good movie. Not in a kiddie, hokey sort of way although there is just enough of that to make it heartwarming.
And if you are someone like I am, whose life was more or less saved by the power of finding rock music as a kid and spent any time letting out the frustrations of parents, school, work, or pressure by locking yourself in your room and practicing your riffs and stage moves, then this movie is for you.
I'm sure there are a ton of hardcore cynics who would hate it but at least where I saw it last night the entire theater applauded and I didn't see one person leaving the theater who didn't have a huge grin or smile on their face.

2. Ditto....I think it should and it will be.... |

Honestly the age of the audience for this ranged from 8 to about 60 years old. And there were parts for everyone to laugh at.

Audience didn't seem to be as "into it" as I. Again mostly seniors and quite a few pre teens.
I enjoyed it alot, but was vaguely disappointed. Don't know why - perhaps I took the hype too seriously and expected more.
All in all - a cute movie, but I don't hink Jack will get an Oscar nod.
