11. There are two Seattle shows: Laser Floyd and Laser Wall |
|
The first is the entire Dark Side album, and the second is, of course, the entire Wall album. Both are followed by quite a few songs from various other albums, notably "Welcome to the Machine" and "One of These Days". Some good 3D computer animations plus more traditional spirography patterns. If you're lucky, they'll do this one amazing trick during "Great Gig" ...
If Phoenix is anything like Seattle, you will love it.

4. I saw it about 12 years ago |
|
There's one part where they send a blue, beam split laser over the audience and when it hits the smoke it looks like blue clouds. Very trippy indeed. I fully enjoyed it.

My wife and I went to Memorial Coliseum in Portland, OR to see or rather "experience" Pink Floyd. As we recall it was around 1974, and was their only appearance in Oregon before or since. It was an amazing performance and certainly the best live concert I have ever attended. The Oregonian, in their revue of it the next day, said that when the band came onstage a thousand lighters were struck in silent tribute. Yeah and an hour after the gig we were still looking for our car. Lost in north Portland and stoned to the bejeesus belt just from osmosis. What a night.

10. I saw Pink Floyd on the "Momentary Lapse of Reason" tour |
|
It was at the Reichstag in Berlin. They set up their equipment on the grass in front of the Reichstag. They had the pig. They had the lasers. There were three of us and a whole case of beer.
Ho-lee shit.
For me, the high point of the show wasn't the lasers, the pig, the bed or anything else big and famous. It was when they killed all the lights and played the introduction to "Wish You Were Here." They brought up the lights when David Gilmour started singing.
The next morning, the Berliner Morgenpost had this headline: "Pink Floyd could be heard from seven kilometers away."

12. Yeah, that was quite a show |
|
Saw it twice: once in Seattle, then two nights later in Vancouver (with Jethro Tull in between).
Both were domed stadiums, and when they blasted those big green lasers into a wave pattern over our heads, it was like we were underwater, and the crowd gasped as one.
Good times.
