well, thanks to the snow....... |
|
we went off the road thismorning, not even a mile from our house, and just missed a telephone pole. we were driving a loaner, jeep liberty (augh!!! I hate Jeep! I've owned one before). Since last night we've gotten about a foot of snow and it didn't start until after 10:30 pm. The dealership isn't open yet, so the car is still there. Luckily, there were two nice people who picked us up and got us into work. So that's my morning. Chosen word of the day: FUCK.

7. So I'm not the only one who thinks Jeeps are lousy |

in the snow. I hated ours, and convinced my wife to go with an all-wheel drive car instead. Much better.
Hey, as a "Maine-ah" do you cringe really tightly when you hear someone (especially actors and people doing commercial) trying to do the Maine "ey-yuh" and sounding really lame? God, that irritates me. (I can't even spell it phonetically, but you know the sound I mean.)
I grew up in Vermont, and can still do the Vermont version, but never could do the Maine one even if someone offered me a lot of money. I really think you can't learn or imitate that sound.

8. a-ya, it pisses me off too. |

I love stephen king, but every time they make a movie from his books, I just want to slap 'em. If they insist on the accent, use a real maine-ah or just don't bother at all. It ends up sounding like a cross between a Boston and N.Y. accent and it's just terrible. We've had a couple of Jeeps, a cherokee sport and a Grand Cherokee. Had nothing but problems, mostly the breaks. Replacing them a 10k miles and shit.
