Today's Chicago Cubs thread, Saturday 10/11 |
|
Better make sure your tickers are in good shape today! Any more baseball games like last night and it is Cardiac Cubs Arrest! :o
I can't emphasize enough how important it was to get the win. Kerry Wood sets the bar so high for himself that anything less that perfect from him seems like a major letdown. We fans should know not to take his starting efforts for granted. The win was NOT guaranteed, but win they did, and momentum is ours.
A win tonight will... dare I say? Put the Cubbies ONE win away from the World Series! :D
Dare to dream! It WILL happen. No guarantees, but it CAN be done.
GO CUBBIES!
And on a related note: Go Sox! See my sig quote for my take on THAT Series! ;-)

Just yesterday, the doc pronounced my ticker in good shape. Note: That had nothing to do with the Cubs' success this year.

3. Who is starting tonight? |
|
Matt Clement?
It seems to be a roll of the dice with Clement. Either he gives up a lot of runs or he pitches on par with Wood or Prior.

8. yeah, he can blow hot or cold |

I think with adequate rest and momentum, I dare predict he will do reasonably well as Florida bats suddenly go dead. :-)

Besides, I'd love to see Cubs fans shut down O'Hare to greet their team!

I notice the Marlins have Bump (and what an interesting name that is!) pitching. Need a relief already. LOL.

Well, not really. But he does seem to be the most dangerous Marlin. Can the Cubbies put it away???

26. re: friday night - thank you Doug Glanville |
|
I love these stories where a bench warmer turns into the big hero. What a crucial hit. His triple may mean the difference between World Series and wait till next year, because losing that game would have shifted the momentum to the Fish. Way to go.
