It reminds me of a hunting lodge:puke:

2. Actually, that's probably what I'd do, is sell it. First, it's in Texas...
...and, no offense to Texas DUers, but I've lived there and I wouldn't go back. Second, I'm not down with the architectural style, either. Third, the floor plan sucks in technicolor. And fourth, I need the money more than I need that house and all of the problems that come with it.

But, I did like seeing someone win it who seems to be in a bind and could benefit from the windfall--no matter how he intends to use it.

3. Well they also won 250000
So if they really want to stay in the house, they could conceivably pay the taxes for the house and the car that they won as well.

4. The taxes will break him
I think there is a point in the contract in the contest that you have to live there at least a year, that's why I stopped entereing...

5. Why would they give away a house in Texas? Not much of a prize
If you HAVE to live there. As my stepfather says, "If I owned Hell and Texas, I'd live in Hell and rent out Texas." I lived there, too, and I agree.

6. They should turn it into a B&B.. Maybe they could afford
the taxes if they rented some rooms out:)

I actually think it's an ugly monstrosity.

They shoudl just stay for the minimum time necessary, rent some rooms out to make some money, sell it..

The money they make could pay the income taxes and they would probably have enough left over to pay cash for a "real" home...and keep the car..

Hopesully they will set a chunk aside for their 9 yr old's college:)

I am glad a "deserving" person won, but it's still ugly :)

7. But how many bedrooms?
Last time I entered the contest was maybe 2 years ago and I think there were only 3 bedrooms...
