Edited on Sat Oct-11-03 10:18 PM by VelmaD
so I dreamed I was in DC at this big State visit by Russian President Putin. We were in the Capitol building. I was in the crowd.
Anyway, there were all these dignitaries and whatnot up on the dais. They were glad-handing and chatting before the speeches started.
All of a sudden this guy in the Vatican delegation dressed as a cardinal pulled out a gun and started firing. He didn't really hit anybody at that point. People started screaming. He jumped off the dais and started running out of the building...
when Tip O'Neill (of all people) stepped into the room and the guy ran smack into him. Tip tried to talk to him and calm him down and the guy shot him point blank in the chest.
By this time, the Capitol Police had managed to get to him and they subdued him. Surprisingly they did not shoot him (though the Secret Service did not look happy about that).
Anyway, any thoughts on the deeper meaning of it all?

17. That's pretty weird all right, Vel. The weirdest part was the |
|
Cardinal taking out a good old Boston-Irish Catholic good guy like Tip O'Neill. Could it be because good old Tip didn't always toe the Vatican Papal line?
Was Putin the target? Is it because Eastern Orthodox still beats out Catholicism in Russia?

I honestly don't think the person in the Cardinal outfit was really a part of the Vatican delegation but was using it as a disguise. Don't ask me why I thought this while I was dreaming it - I don't know.
My current theory is that Tip was just a stand-in my brain used for the current majority leader and I really just want someone to shoot Tom DeLay. (Note to FBI - this is in no way intended as a threat...realy, seriously, I mean it, cross my heart) :-)

I do too most nights. It's just that last night's sex dream went from hot to distressing. The sex part was just spiffy. It's just that everyone on earth kept showing up and interupting the proceedings. Most frustrating.

there were all sorts of fun vendors at it selling various and sundry organic and political stuff. I got myself some new button and bumper stickers. My personal faves "Witch Parking: All Others Will Be Toad" *snort* and "One Nation, Under Surveillance".
