2. Hope This Doesn't Get Construed as 'Medical Advice' |

but I've had great success with generic Benadryl. I like to get the children's syrup formulation, then take adult dosages. I might be wrong here, but I believe taking the medicine in liquid form - along with the sugar in the kids' version (great grape taste, too!) - gets the medicine into my system quicker. Benadryl has an added benefit of making you drowsy, so you can make up for that lost sleep.

try loratadine - the generic name for Claritin - available in non-prescription form as Alavert. As I get older, my allergies don't cause me nearly so much misery as before, so I'm not as familiar with the newer antihistamines on the market. People have told me, however, that loratadine is good stuff. Non-drowsy, too!

5. if your worst symptom is your eyes, get your doc to order you |
|
some Patinol Eye Drops. Best. Stuff. Ever.
It ain't cheap but if you have RX coverage you can probably get it for copay.
Also, Flonase or its relatives can do a real number on the nasal inflammation part.
The good part about this type of treatment is you are treating the symptoms locally and don't have to take systemic medicine.
