Even if Metallica suck now (which they do)... |
|
Recording the entire "Ride the Lighting" album and their verison of Seger's "Turn the Page" is a big fucking "get-out-of-jail-free" card.

but I really like a cover of Tuesday's Gone that they did. Sadly, I'll never buy one of their albums, and everybody knows they'll never put their music on iTunes.
I just want that one song.

3. You liked that Turn the Page shit? |
|
I'm not a huge Metallica fan but I like some of their stuff. That is the only one of their songs that really makes me want to barf on unsuspecting children and clip their guitar strings. It was an incredibly boring and uncompelling cover. It was just like the original but with a worse voice and a metal guitar. Nothing creative about it.

But that "Whiskey in the Jar" shit has to go. I wish I could go back in time and kill the songwriter.

4. I'd go with "Master of Puppets". |
|
I bought the albums used. So I could have it and not worry about putting money in their hands.

5. They were a great band up through their Metallica album |
|
Edited on Wed Mar-09-05 02:37 AM by Downtown Hound
A lot of people say that is where the band went downhill, but I disagree. I like that album. After that though, they should have retired. Their biggest claim to fame since then is their lawsuit against Napster, not exactly a crowning moment for a band that railed against authority and pretended to be "of the people."

are all amazing....the first album and 'justice for all' are OK and their other stuff is listenable.

8. I love the first three records. |
|
Kill 'Em All, Ride the Lightning, and Master of Puppets are all among the top 20 metal albums ever recorded.
And Justice... was okay. Then they started to suck.
