4. That's from the Omega 3 fatty acids... |
|
I don't know what else they've got going for them, but I remember hearing about the Omega 3. Fish has got it too, but if you don't feel like fish or fish oil tablets, the flaxseed is supposed to rock.
Omega threes are the best ever.

6. They are very very tiny and almost tasteless |
|
You have to put them in with something else because they are tasteless on their own.

7. good for you due to Omega-3 |
|
but a warning if you're a guy, flax seed oil has been linked to prostate cancer.
Which is why most doctors recommend fish oil over flax seed oil for men.

Supposed to be good for regulating cholesterol, high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids.

13. Flax seeds must be ground to digest benefits. |
|
It has a great nutty flavor. Reminds me of finely ground graham crackers crumbs---sort of.... Perfect to mix with yogurt, apple sauce, oatmeal, etc.. I started taking it as a(n experimental) supplement for my age related joint pain and stiffness. I started doing some research and have been amazed at all of the health benefits, heart, cancer prevention, colon/digestive/ fiber issues.. etc..... It reads like a miracle food Call it placebo if ya like, I really do think it has helped me. This has been a relatively pain free winter..and the only difference is the flax.
I gave all of my loved ones gifts of Flax seed (in a lovely container :) and coffee mills (for grinding) as Xmas gifts this year. I'm convinced.
