Anyone watching Dr. Phil right now? INTENSELY DISTURBING.
It's about a 18-yr old kid who raped his 4-yr old sister....this kid is sick.

Apparently he also raped a 14 yr old girl, and claims to have been molested 27 times himself. The kid (named Makai) claims that he was raped by an older girl (?!) when he was 9 yrs old.

Wow. I don't know if I should keep watching this or not.

1. I saw a bit of that episode...
...last week on UPN, I think. It was all very strange. It seems that almost everyone in his immediate family has been molested--him, his sister, his mother, his father. Am I remembering it correctly?

10. Yeah...you might wanna edit that.
I was looking to commisserate, not start a flame war.

And no, there's no hint of Fundyism in this family that I can see.

14. Same here, My fundie radar is not going off that much...
I know some people who would have dragged that kid's ass to the nearest police station.

21. Believe it or not, no
When the family was on the first show, I got NO inkling that they were fundie in any sense of the word.

They seemed very concerned about their kid's behaviour and wanted it to stop immediately.

7. Yup, that's it.
This is very very very very unsettling.

The mother is trying to comfort the kid and he doesn't want it. Can you imagine going through life with this kinda shit in your background?

13. Do you believe...
Edited on Wed Mar-09-05 04:21 PM by skypilot
...that he was molested by that many different people? I don't mean to sound like an asshole but I was very skeptical when he made that claim?
If I remember correctly, he didn't simply claim to have been molested 27 times but to have been molested by 27 people.

16. He also claimed to be a "pathological liar."
No, I don't believe that he was molested by that many people. Seems like an excuse.

This Makai character is pretty unpleasant: greasy hair, sleazy eyes....ugh. This is awful, but fascinating....

11. Right! He and his shows are getting sicker and sicker.
If Jerry Springer had this kid on, they would be throwing tomatoes at him...but since it is Dr. Phil. it is OK to have him on a major network.

18. There's only one thing sicker than that kind of depravity...
... And that's going on TV to share that kind of depravity with the world. To actually watch TV shows like that is only moderately sick by comparison.

24. To sum up:
The mother was far too coddling. If I was the father of that kid, I would beat the everloving SHIT out of him until he would forever associate his perversion with severe physical pain.

20. I saw the first part last week or the week before
They were suposed to show the 2nd part the next day, but I had school...I wondered if he failed the lie detector test.

That kid was creepy from teh word go.

They had all these intances of him 'inappropriately touching' girls MUCH younger than him, and he just had handfulls of excuses.

When he pulled that (IMO) bullshit line about being molested by 27 people I spit my fucking tea all over the fucking room. NO WAY IN HELL.

As a victim of childhood sexual abuse and rape, I've been around ALOT of people (in group meetings and individually) who are NEVER as complacent as THAT KID WAS when talking about their abuse for the first time (According to him, he only told his parents he was molested a few months earlier, never that he had been molested by 27 people). That was SO outrageous, and frankly, quite unbelievable.

He was using very stereotypical "victim" talk---he was touched inappropriately, no one told him that touching people like that was wrong, so he didn't see anything wrong with being 16 years old and trying to make out with his brother's 12 year old female friend. Yeah. Right.

The guy that molested me---oh poor soul was molested in his youth (even though there is evidence pointing to the fact that he was possibly abusing children in the neighborhood before he was molested). That (his past molestation) gave him such a free pass with SO many people for the horrors that he perpitrated not just on me, but on DOZENS of other children (that we know of...who knows how many are unknown). "He knows not what he does" his mother once said, after finding out he had molested me, KNEW he had been in jail previously for molestation (never told my mom about that, never warned her that it might not be a good idea for her pre-pubescent daughter to be alone with a serial rapist). She was such an apologizer for that monster. Denial is a powerful thing.

The parents in Dr Phil, though, really didn't seem to be apologizing for his actions, although they did let him be around his little sister even after they had fears that he had molested her, and after they had proof that he had 'inappropriately touched' other girls younger than him.

Why he looks at porn 24 hours a day "It's a cry for help" :eyes:

That kid is SUCH a liar. I really have no sympathy for him. I don't want to say that I don't believe he was molested, but there is NO WAY he was molested by 27 people and oh yeah mom and dad I forgot to tell you that....

House of Secrets, that is a true story about the same thing in an Ohio family. Very disturbing.
