23. At WC, you have to say specifically

"I'll have 3 (5,10,20) cheeseburgers WITH EVERYTHING ON THEM" otherwise you just get a plain old dry burger. Onions, pickle, ketchup and mustard (I have experienced it where the ketchup and mustard have been mixed together into a brown paste. That is gross.)

21. Nostalgia food for me; Mr. Pcat loves 'em.

They are one of the few childhood foods that we didn't have an argument in their restaurant over (I still get queasy at the sight of a Filet o'Fish, so avoiding McD's has not been painful for me) so I don't mind them. The fact that they're less greasy than a lot of other burgers doesn't hurt.

When I came back from Indiana, however, I brought Mr. Pcat a dozen of them, frozen in Indiana, and kept cold with ice packs in my luggage. I got home yesterday about 10; they were all gone by 5 pm. (Not that they would have kept, anyway.)

The closest one to us is in KCMO, so they're not a normal part of our diet.

Not any more. Used to be great for the weekly grease run, but they went downhill, too. No real taste any more, the most expensive of the chains, and they started using plastic pickles.

And they make them right in front of you, so you see the dirty deed as it's happening. That ketchup squirter, I don't know, there's just something about it...

The fish thing is still OK, but pricey for what you get. Last time I was in one, I saw they brought the fried clams back. If they're the same as when I was a kid, only eat them when you're constipated.

The first time I tried one- it was a cold hamburger. I despised it, I tossed it back on my plate, and declared that shiny bread is not natural.

One night a few months later, we were stoned, it was past midnight, and only two places were open- we opted for White Castle because it is so much cheaper.
