I love the way people think here. I love the way people talk up here. Crap, I love the way people swear when their Wellys stick in the mud up here.

As a progressive I love the fact that my state's motto is "Progress" even though I know that has more to do with a Lockeian manifesto to subdue the land than it did Jeffersons ideas of liberty, justice and equality.

I love the way we see in two freshwater seas the future of our nation.

I love the way we embraced an immigrant Hispanic who vacationed in a converted chicken shack and provided a land ethic for a nation that only reflected how we felt about the environment already.

I love our sense of the value of people and their struggle, even though at times that's led to our supporting political beliefs that were RED in a distinctly different way from the Republicans.

I love the way we embraced the modern architecture of a man who couldn't design a roof that didn't leak.

I love the way we exalt education, even when we can't fund it.

I love the way we create medicine, even if we can't afford it.

I love the fact that God so loves us he lets us walk (verily, even drive our pick-ups)on the water here--well at least during January and February.

I love a place where the BLUE clays, the BLUE sky, and the BLUE water make me feel at home.

I don't love how we gave the world the Bradley Foundation that funded the formation of the Neocons...but even we can't claim perfection.

And I love the way we make people think the only things of value here are cheese and beer.

Thanks, Just felt a need to share that.

4. I saw a list once of funny Wisconsin idioms such as
"Stop and Go lights" which my wife's sister in Kenosha says. Do you have any such list? I am Iowan by the way but live only 35 minutes from WI.
