Too many embarassing "liberals" participate in my project
Edited on Mon Oct-13-03 02:39 PM by SeanT
Guys,

I'm a liberal myself. Dean is definitely getting my vote, but I'm sick of the stereotypical "liberal" making wide-appeal a challenge. On my site (http://www.volconvo.com)I have yet to see the average liberal. I've seen way too many way communists, and "nazis", and not enough liberals who can debate effectively with a conservative.

The conservatives in the project of course have been having a field day. :(

How can I attract the right people in your opinion? This is almost like politics.

1. There's a truth known to
campaign managers and candidates alike that goes something like:

"My enemies, I can deal with, but God save me from my friends!"

4. If you really don't want dissenting opinions
just 'fake' all the posts. Or post a notice that only those opinions YOU consider valid will be displayed , that way YOU can control ALL of the content and then you won't have to be embarrassed by us 'lefties'.

5. no...
you obviousely didn't understand what I was saying. I was wondering what I should do for a balance. Right now there isn't one, so the debate can be a little scary for newcomers.

It's like people being too afraid to nominate dean. Attracting the average joe to debate is difficult when you just have extremes.

6. Tell us your definition of "liberal"
If you don't want anything remotely communist then you probably really mean libertarian.

7. not at all
I just don't think you need to be communist to be liberal. This has been the case on my site all too often.

I consider a liberal anyne who want's social and economic change. It doesn't always have to be an explosion of change in my opinion.
