Anyone have websites other than expedia or cheaptickets to find reasonable airfares?
Thanks

3. I just got a good deal through Yahoo |
|
price beat the other discount places by a bit. Just make sure you click on the "more fares" at the bottom of the first page which gives you fares as they limit it on the first page.

8. I always seem to get the best all around deal w/Orbitz, and I do |
|
shop around. I have also used their lastminute deal link, which may be hotwire, come to think of it and have sometimes really done WELL

Always check your fare with SideStep -- it will check them all, even Southwest and other discount airlines, for the best price. Keep in mind that Southwest is an uncomfortable choice for a transcon and no longer has the best fare, it is sometimes significantly more expensive for less service, at least from my departure airport. They don't make a profit while other airlines run at a loss because they are giving anything away.
The "mileage run" forum at Flyertalk should be checked each day. Excellent but sometimes short-lived transcons and long hauls will be posted there.
Air-fare.com/xxx where xxx is your airport departure code should also be checked. For instance, you depart from Vegas, the code is LAS, so check out air-fare.com/las every morning.
Expedia, cheaptickets, and travelocity do not often have the best fares. It could happen, but when it does, SideStep will catch it for you anyway.

9. Look at the airlines' own websites. |
|
Sometimes that's where the best fares are.
