Get out an old CD you haven't heard in ages, and jam to it. |
|
Today's a good day for that. :headbang:
I had to drive around a bit today, and was jamming to Slayer's "Seasons in the Abyss". I had forgotten how bad ass they were..
I also had the first Snoop Dogg album, Doggystyle, going for a whirl in the ol' Pioneer.
"What do you wanna be when you grow up?"
"I wanna be a mother f**kin hustler, you betta ask somebody!"
If things keep going this way, I might have to break out EFIL4ZAGGIN before the day is through. Also on deck, some old Butthole Surfers, circa 1988-1993, some Bad Religion, not to mention BT's "Movement in Still Life" (that album brings back a lot of memories and it's a BAD ASS album)
:hurts:

Vinyl definitely counts!!
I wish I had my turntables here.
I have a pretty decent collection, about 400 pieces or so. All breaks and trance from the time I was colelcting, around 1995 through about 2000.

You should know how *bitchy* us atheists get when called a fundie I assume </sarcasm>.....as for Kirstie I think what she's doing is f-ing hilarious, I've chose to stay quiet on it though, too many people taking it way too seriously around here.
So to make a long comment short, here's a  to go with the giggle!

.. a few of my favorites on your list there..
No Control(an all time fave of mine)... Against the Grain.. Generator (classic!)
If you haven't gotten into them much, I submit to you that The Gray Race and Stranger than Fiction are both great albums. 'Fiction' can really grow on you once you jam it a few times in the car or whataver...
Into the Unknown.. isn't that the one with synth parts in it? How is that?

26. Into the unknown was different... |
|
It's alot slower then their later stuff that they put out, and also different because it has alot of organs/pianos in it. I personally liked it, but I don't hear alot of people mention it.
As for Stranger Than Fiction, I have heard it, also liked it. I haven't heard The Gray Race, will have to add it to my list. I am lazy with buying newer cd's though, I'm still trying to replace all of my old stuff I've lost track of.

...yeah seriously, if you get a chance, do pick up The Gray Race, it's worth ot. Download it first to see if you like it even. There are some instant classics on that album. It's extremely *catchy*.. the hooks make you want to sing along, and the whole album is one of those albums that just makes you want to drive fast. Similar to a DJ Icey album, though that's a totally different genre.
As far as Into the Unknown, from what I understand, they really regretted that album after they did it, Greg in particular, and they actually wished to forget it. I know they named the very next album "Back to the Known" which I don't think I've ever heard anyone mention and many people don't even know about it's existence.
I am curious about both of those albums.
Rock on, home slice... :headbang:

Haven't been called that in ages. I wil definitely check it out. As for that record, yes they did. And that is exactly why they released the ep Back To The Known, I still liked it though just because it was different....alot of the stuff I have is like that though....
Thanks for the tips though, I will check it out next time I go out of town to a decent music store!
