I think. He's an unrepentant Nader supporter and was perhaps a little ardent in his support of the man.
But my mom passed away at the end of January, so we're all struggling with that right now. :(

10. Some days better than others. Today is an ok day, which is good because |
|
dad is having a really bad weekend. I am glad that we all seem to be taking turns with being the "strong" one.
But... over all I am still having a hard time with it all. It is one thing to say "mom is still here, just in spirit form" and another thing to feel it in my heart and be at peace with it. That will be some time in coming for my brother and me.. and may never come for my dad.

|
He got better, but never returned past 60%.... but, then he was 83.
I doubt you will ever fully 'get over it'. It is expected that a parent dies before the child, but I think the scar remains. I have scars that remain from those not near as close to me as a parent.

I wonder how men deal w/ it? When it hits you are totally unaware... and unable to raise extra 'shields' in time.

11. It should fly, though. Look at how many DU members we have lost.. or |
|
members who have lost loved ones, in recent times. :( We have a need for a group of that nature, no doubt about it.

My parents are nearing that time, and my mom has not been well this last year. She could go at any time...
Why not put together a mission statement thingy, and get supportive responses? According to the rules, you need at least 10 people who are donors to DU (with a star). Once you've got that, bring the proposal to Skinner in ATA.

We used to use the Meeting Room for those issues but a special group would be very helpful.

have to do something and get ten people to say they want it? Or something to that effect.

There are so many people here who have lost loved ones. My husband passed away 10 yrs ago and I am not 'over it'. I don't know if one ever really gets over it or you just learn to go on.

24. Bereavement group: a place of support for people who are grieving |
|
Edited on Sat Mar-12-05 11:26 PM by GreenPartyVoter
The purpose of this group is to provide a support system for members of DU who have suffered a loss. Members joining this group will find a safe place to cry, scream, hurt, adjust, heal, and learn to cope with their loss.

that it isn't limited by operating hours like a counselor is. It would be there for us whenever we needed it.
