Anyone see Das Experiment? Is it based on the Stanford prison study? |

I remember reading about that a while ago.
And recently I heard about this German film and I think it's loosely based on it. Anyone see it? Is it any good?

It's kinda difficult to watch because the violence is extreme. Any slasher movie is worse, but this violence feels real and that changes everything.
Apart from taking the Stanford study as it's basis which is pretty cool (remember the Stanford study was stopped, this movie explores the idea of what might have happened if it wasn't stopped) it's also very pro-woman The almost-girlfriend is the real hero.
But this is not a fun movie. It is relentlessly ugly, brutal, and cruel. And also strangely sexy.
So watch it at your own peril. But I do recommend it.

I liked it pretty well. I don't know what it was based on, but it had the same ideas, the people were chosen to be guards or prisoners and it depicted the motives behind the participants' actions as they become more violent.
I liked the main actor, I don't know his name, but he was the cute guy that played Manny in "Run Lola Run."
