sure don't give a damn about sobriety at work... I have a cold, the first thing my boss (old German) says when I get into work, here have some brandy in your coffee, that'll cure that. Then one of our old German clients, stopped in said the same thing, a few minutes ago, came back with a fifth of Korbell Xs for me...Cheers....

Yeah, they're into that. Some factories in Germany have beer vending machines, or did, last I knew. They just tend to see alcohol as more inherant to enjoying life, and less as an evil, than we do here. IMO, that's a healthier mentality :)

They also have legalized prostitution, and their rate of rape per capita is far less.
I think if main facets of life aren't viewed so puritanically as taboo, and more naturally, it leads to less craziness and less binging.
