Which T-shirt should I wear to the anti-war rally tomorrow in Austin?
My DU T-shirt (waving flag, Democratic Underground name and url) or my "My Son ... one of the few, the proud, a Marine" ?

I want to give DU exposure but I want to make a point that military families are against this war, too.

Thanks!

1. Military. When and where is the rally? Perhaps you can give your DU shirt
to another to wear. I want to come to the rally and may bring my gson. So I need some facts. Thanks.

3. Good idea!
My daughter is coming with me -- maybe she could wear the DU T-shirt.

Check out the thead in the Texas forum -- all the details are there. Maybe I'll see you there! :)

10. Great!
It says "My SON" is read and has gold, shiny stars on it next to the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor Marine emblem. My son hates it because it's a little gawdy! ;)

2. That's rough... I'd probably go with the marines one
When we were out protesting before this things started, my son was less than 1 and I wanted to get him a shirt that said:

"Napalm sticks to me"

but didn't think of it until too late.

/sigh

He was always the most popular person at our small rallies

5. I'll bet!
This war affects our young people more than us if for no other reason than they'll be paying for it for a long time (and of course, there are a LOT of other reasons!)

4. Definitely the marine one
It makes a huge statement. My friend has one that she takes to most rallies. Here it is:

14. That's what I was thinking.
I'm fortunate that my son is stationed in Japan right now but I was against this war long before he joined the Marines. In fact, he's against this war, too!

Publicity for us is great, but the point about military families trump as far as importance IMO!

18. Thank you!
I'll wear my Marine T-shirt with pride, in honor of my son and all the Marines, soldiers, seamen, and airmen, as well as the American and foreign civilians and troops, and thousands of Iraqis, who have been maimed or killed needlessly because of this idiotic war.
