My step mother worked at a special needs preschool. One of the little girls had a feeding tube (I forgot the reason, but she had it her entire life) despite the fact that the doctor had told the parents that they should be introducing soft foods to her. The parents did not want to do this because the "food" was cheaper (it may have been subsidized). The school was considering reporting the parents for abuse because of this. They had fed the girl soft foods and knew that she was tolerating them.

The absolutely worst blenderized tube food I ever had to feed someone (am a nurse) was blendrized corned beef and cabbage for StPatrick's day. It was bad.
