G`morning DU ~ together, we can take the long way home
~ Ta Da ~ Spring ~ Glorious Spring ! :toast:

It's a beautiful morning. The sun is shining, I see a few more Crocus in bloom.

Spring will arrive tomorrow accompanied by a late-season snowstorm in the northeast.

How will you celebrate the first day of my favorite season?

3. *sigh*
Well, my friend finally came in last night (he's here until 4AM Sunday). Pretty much that's all I can say. :D I don't know, it had just been forever since I had seen him and all those feelings came rushing back. It was so sweet, he was laying on the couch and I was on the floor next to him, and he just kept running his fingers through my hair. And then we kissed. And it was (no exaggeration) the best kiss I've experienced in my life so far. It was so soft and so sensual that I literally felt like I could've melted. *sigh*

Sorry! I'm sure that was too much info!

6. You stopped just at the right time!
That was in 'good-taste' and surely not at risk of getting this thread locked.

I'm glad that the two of you finally got to spend some time together and that you're still smiling.... you go girl! ...:yourock:

9. I think I'll drive up to Albany today.
Wish it was warm enough to put the top down on my Tracker. The custom work is still on-going with the Trike or I'd put on my leathers and go out for a ride on my Beautiful Beast.

:grouphug: we love ya here at DU

15. I keep hearing "It's almost done"
I'll be able to ride it again soon. :evilfrown:It's such a tease ... it's sitting there in my garage tempting me to climb on and take off:evilgrin: but the clear-coat hasn't been sprayed over the feathers yet and I'm threating to bubble wrap it to go out for a ride anyway!

no matter - how young or old - waiting for something you desire to be returned to you isn't always easy.

4. My favorite too!
Tomorrow will be 60 degrees here in Kansas. Thunderstorms tomorrow evening (yippee! The perfect beginning) I will work outside, walk door to door for a candidate friend, watch some tennis and be happy it is spring. The Forsythia is blooming, not a solid wall yet but it will be in a week.

Will you be shoveling snow?

5. No more shoveling for me.
I used to get out there while the snow was still falling, crank-up the snowblower and clear my driveway and our little private road. This winter, there was a very nice man with a plow on his truck who cleared the driveway so all of my deliveries of oil and my weekly garbage pick-up were possible.

It sounds like Spring is friendlier in Kansas than in New York State. Our Forsythias aren't blooming yet - but the color of the bark on the trees are showing signs of the return of sap flowing again.

I'm sure you'll have some interesting stories to share about your visits on your friend's behalf.

8. Ahhh the nice man
with the blade! The life savers of all of us not on a city street with a long private drive. I have one of them too and he was a life saver several times.

Yes, spring comes quickly here and does not last long. Last year was the best spring I can remember, long and mostly cool.

Door to door in Kansas is usually a non event. People are nice and this is for a friend who is already their council person so they know her. The only real problem is she is our only openly gay council person but still, around here people might be nasty on the phone but in person they usually just close the door on you.

Where in New York State are you? I just made my first trip to NY state last October and really enjoyed what we saw.

14. an hour south of Albany
October is a lovely tome to go Leaf Peeping in New York. They are usually at their best around Columbus Day. If you find yourself on the New York State Thruway there are Buffaloes that roam around The Thruview Farm at mile marker 96.

I wish your friend, the council person, continued success!

It was beautiful to be out there playing in the snow with the snowblower just not too early in the morning.

20. The flowers that bloom in the spring
The flowers that bloom in the spring,
Tra la,
Breathe promise of merry sunshine.
As we merrily dance and we sing,
Tra la,
We welcome the hope that they bring,
Tra la,
Of a summer of roses and wine,
Of a summer of roses and wine.
And that's what we mean when we say that a thing
Is welcome as flowers that bloom in the spring.
Tra la la la la,
Tra la la la la,
The flowers that bloom in the spring.
Tra la la la la,
Tra la la la la,
Tra la la la la la!
(from the Mikado, W.S. Gilbert & Sir Arthur Sullivan)

The actual song is not terribly relevant to spring as it's actually about marrying an ugly old woman, but the first verse fits beautifully.

68 degrees here in merry England. :hi:

22. A summer filled with wine and roses
is exactly what I plan for this year!

I'll enjoy seeing the roses in bloom along with every other flowering thing - be it weed or carefully manicured gardens.

The wine shall flow like water --- because this year will be a year to  again.

Spring Fever is starting to addle my brain already. :hi: 68 degrees sounds inviting and I know it's around here somewhere. :evilfrown:

My world is still covered in melting snow.:evilfrown:

I just returned from a drive to enjoy the warmth of today before tonight's snow-showers. It was beautiful in spite of the fact that I was traveling around on 4 wheels instead of 3.
