4. Good time in Boston? Wish I could have been there --- but I was

busy PROTESTING!!! Anyone post any pics yet? We are going up to Boston tomorrow for the March. Had to march in Hartford today and go to a family b-day party, otherwise, I would have been up there. They are a fun bunch to party with aren't they.
I have only had the pleasure once, at the DNC. Good times, good times.

NO traffic on the way in;
it was warm enough to get the convertible top down while driving in town;
didn't get lost despite not having been in Cambridge for a damn long time;
found a broken parking meter (not that I'd have minded paying, but it meant I didn't have to keep track of time);
NO traffic on the way out.

nothing against anyone who was there. you all seemed like very nice people. i just felt very uncomfortable being in a group of people who seemed to all know each other fairly well from previous meetings. by around 4:30 everyone had broken off into smaller groups, and by 5 i was feeling so out of place, i just decided to leave. it's nothing against anyone who was there, but it took a great deal for me to even get myself to go at all. i have a good deal of social anxiety and found myself breaking down after the size of the group reached critical mass. i hope i didn't offend anyone by my quick and unannounced exit.

Hey, I didn't know anyone there either, but you have to remember that you will never be one of the "people who seemed to all know each other fairly well from previous meetings" unless you go to more of them.

Just some advice from someone who was hideously shy as a child and cured the shyness by becoming a musician and forcing myself to perform in public. Shock therapy works.

65. I pushed myself just to get myself to go.

It took me about a weeks worth of convincing myself before I commited myself to going. I was doing fine at first, then I just kind of shut down. I know that its irrational, and can't for the life of me understand just why it happens. I do keep trying, been trying my whole life, and surprisingly, I'm much better now than I was years ago.

I ran into a couple DU'ers today at the rally in the Commons. Was nice to run into them seeing as the rest of the people that were supposed to go with me no-showed, so I was attending the rally solo.
