Poll question: Favourite Peter Jackson Movie. |
|
All hail the Kiwi King of splatter! I think I'll go for the original, Bad Taste - an extraordinary achievement for talented amateurs. Pity he seemed to drop off the radar after The Frighteners - anyone hear what he's up to know?

What, like technical ones? I must've missed them. Is he slumming it as a DP or something?

Honestly, I never read the books or seen any of those movies. LOTR!

6. The best thing to do with it is to hold a sophisticated dinner party |
|
then pop it in the video without telling your guests anything about it.

Story: I showed "Forgotten Silver" to a friend who, at the time, was in film school. I didn't let on that it was a put-on. He entirely bought it, becoming outraged that his professors weren't teaching about Jackson's fictional filmmaker. Which I think is as fine a testament as any to Jackson's skill as a director. I don't understand why he isn't better-known.

18. I've never had the chance to see it. |
|
I know the idea behind it - I'm a big fan of mockumentary, doubly so when it is utterly serious. There's so many extraordinary eccentrics in the history of New Zealand, like Mad Richard Pearse, who flew before the Wright brothers, that it rings very, very true.

19. I'm assuming this excludes LOTR, so it's Heavenly Creatures. |
|
If we're including LOTR, then you know my choice.
