I was definitely over-served last night. Went to work on 4 hrs sleep. |
|
I simply went out for a nice dinner with friends and next thing i know, the wine is flowing and we are headed back to my tiki bar. Didn't close it down until almost 3am. I'm too damn old for this kind of stuff - especially in the middle of the week - but it was a good time.
I have no idea how i made it thru the day at work. I think I'll probably be asleep in about an hour!

2. Ouch. I used to do it more frequently, but have slowed |
|
the mid-week stuff since I hit my 30's. But, I have no children and every now and then I guess I just need to cut loose!
Although, my stomach did a turn when I came home and saw the empty Pinot Noir bottles on the kitchen counter.
Now I'm trying to decide what kind of hangover food to indulge in for dinner. I think the chicken enchiladas verdes from the mexican joint down the street is calling my name...

5. i'm trying to stay up for a few more hours so i don't wake up at 4am. |

It's a fine line. I'm just glad that it's cold and rainy so i don't feel as guilty for not taking my dog for a run after work.
Those ladies put down some red wine at the tiki bar.
On a side note, i cannot wait for it to warm up just a little more so that i can move the tiki bar outside. I kind of converted my dining room into the tiki bar for the winter because i couldn't bare to see it out in the elements. Besides...it was fun to have such a tropical environment indoors all winter - the palm trees, hibiscus bushes, etc were all snug and warm all winter. Kind of felt like i was on vacation when i came home from work.
sorry for the hungover ramblings!

7. The tiki bar is always open for DU'ers. |

Once I get everything planted this spring, I'll post pictures. I actually won a backyard gardening contest last year. I took home the prize for "Most Creative Garden." There was a walking tour and when everyone came thru, they were treated to daquiri's and Jimmy Buffet. I take it up a notch this year! i'm thinking about filling in sand or some type of coral stone instead of mulch in some areas.

11. Last summer we spent far too much time at the tiki bar. |
|
It was really only the 2nd year that I threw myself into the garden. It's truly addictive. But I did have to confront the fact that the gardening is yet another indication that i'm slowly turning into my mother! Somebody please make it stop!

12. Gardens are way awesome! |
|
I just said to my b/f that I wanted to have a garden. Well, I was in the garden section of KMart so this probably had something to do with my outburst statement!
I love gardens and I think it's cool that you're putting so much time into making your home and yard look beautiful!:)

|
a decent gardening section.
