Quick and easy PC question. |
|
I've noticed that my PC doesn't keep very good time recently. I'm losing about a minute or two every day. Do I need to replace that little battery that I see attached to the motherboard, or is there some other quick fix?
Thanks in advance, ya Poindexters.

1. Yup, the first thing I'd try is that battery. |

2. Hmmm... I doubt it's the internal battery. |

I had that happen on my old desktop PC, and it got worse and worse. Turned out to be spyware. Do a good sweep for ads and spyware, and reboot.

4. I did a sweep two days ago. No problems there. |

My computer is about four years old, and I leave it on all the time.

You'll need to reset your BIOS after you replace it... not a problem if you didn't make any adjustments... if you did, write them down. This'll help: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article.php?id=81Cletus
