When you're proven right after a big argument - do you gloat? |
|
A couple weeks ago the cops here stopped press conferences in the morning. We'd go in for a half hour and get all the news from the day before. Now, the post it on the internet and we have to go there to get it..like COMMONERS. And they promised they would always be available for comment and all this shit. Myself and the only two other reporters in town were totally against it, because it's just the cops finding a way to shirk their responsibility. But all the other fresh-faced types were saying "No, you're being too negative, give it a chances, it'll work ...yada yada yada." So I got in big arguments with them over it.
LAst night, one of them told me this huge story about how she couldn't get ahold of the cops and how the news system isn't working.
I didn't gloat, but I wanted to just jump up and down yelling, "SEE?! I FUCKING TOLD YOU SO!"
Man, it was hard to resist that urge.

'64 Hillman Minx and I looked at the sprockets and said "You guys are one tooth off" "Aw no we're not" "Yeah. You are" So they put it ALL THE WAY back together (put the grill back on and all) and no amount of advancing or retardation of the distributor would get that bad boy to turn over. I slipped out for a walk down by the river with Sammy, my fabulous avatar kitty for a couple of hours, while they adjusted the sprockets by one tooth.

Man, I don't know. The ex was so sure I was wrong, he didn't even try to turn it over until they buttoned it back up. Not a word from me. I Like to read the instructions. They were so easy to follow, even a girl could get it.

When my hubby was a deputy sheriff and I worked at the same agency, we always treated our journalist right. In fact it's good to have those friendships in case it's ever needed. Look at the republican party for other reasons why.

Fuck it, they don't get favours anymore.
I've worked with detachments that we very good about letting us know stuff, and we always returned the favour. Even gave on a column so he could talk about police stuff.
