What songs/bands/singers are you obsessed with, if any?
There are four songs I can't stop playing today.

Sinnerman - Nina Simone.
The Show Must Go On - Queen.
Won't Be Home - Old 97's.
Long Time Gone - Dixie Chicks.

Bizarre mix, I know. Oh well.

How 'bout you?

which is what WWII was refered to in Soviet Russia, think it still is though. Ive been there, they have the smaller soviet republics anthems and some Russian music there too.

69. Peter Gabriel and Sarah McLachlan
I like most of their music. I tend to like stuff that is just a little "off" to most.

82. Funny thing
I was listening to the radio one day circa '98 and heard "Possession" and loved the song. I bought a few of her cd's, and it was a couple of years later when I found out that Peter Gabriel was one of her favorite artists. I had really been into his music since the early 90's.

His concert was the absolute best. It was visual and audio candy!!

I also have been lucky enough to go to 2 Lilith Fairs, where I got to see Sarah McLachlan, Dixie Chicks, Sheryl Crow, Natalie Merchant, Bonnie Raitt, Queen Latifah, just to name a few. Those were great concerts for the 45 dollar tickets!

87. Ouch! How could I forget Peter Gabriel??
I'm one of those people that liked him WAY more than Phil Collins.

95. I loved Phil Collins, but not as much as Gabriel
Phil was the neighbor kind of dude, Gabriel's music was very deep.

78. For the past 20 or so years The Cure and The Smith and Morrisey
have been with me and now my 10 year old daughter is a huge fan as well. I wouldn't call it an obsession but i've tended to stick with about the 10 artists in my lifetime, i listen to lots of other music but those mentioned are always available on every piece of audio equiptment i own.

88. I have a WAY disproportionate number of Frank Sinatra songs on my
playlist, and more Billy Joel CDs than any other artists (and I wondered why I didn't fit in at my old high school!). I also have a lot of stuff by Rilo Kiley, Articolo 31 (Italian) and O-Zone - yes, "that one Romanian band" that sings the song that some guy made a video of himself lipsynching to. :P

90. I have to say that I have a lot of favs and rarely get
obsessed. Hard to get obsessed when I have so many CDs. I could say that I have more Beatles on my iPod than anything else.

Of course, I get the occassional song stuck in my head, or one I listen to a lot for a time. Right now, it's "Portions For Foxes" by Rilo Kiley.

98. Lara Fabian & Linda Eder
And know, I'm not a middle-aged New York woman or a Lillith Faire refugee ("That's not funny")

I'm a warm-blooded gay male who loves a good voice and someone who knows how to sing in such a way that you add syllables to the word "sing"--or who sings in such a way that you don't even call it singing, but rather refer to it as a necessary bodily function. :)

But I'm not obsessesssssssed.

99. Yes, The Roches, Eagles
You might ask, "Eagles? How could you like that shit?"

Well, I really respected their striving for perfection; and they so often almost achieved it. They didn't use a lot of tricks and processing. They really could perform well. And you can't argue with successful songwriting.

My band did some recording in the studio where they recorded the rhythm tracks to The Long Run, and we got to hear some tracks recorded five piece live. They strived to be real and I have always appreciated that.

B-)

105. I am primarily obsessed with the Grateful Dead
in its many incarnations.

I also like the Monkees...flame away...

Other than that I can't think of any other musical obsessions at the moment.
