1. Either Cortland or Haralson |
|
Depending upon the year...some years the Haralson's are better, other years the Cortlands are better.

I couldn't tell you what either of those tasted like. I'm sure they're fantastic! (I adore apples.)

8. No, I live in Minnesota |
|
Both of the varieties are a tad tart and both good for eating and baking. Smooth, not mealy at all.

19. I picked the Macintosh, |
|
but I've always liked Cortlands. That used to be my favorite apple. I can't seem to find them in the stores in Florida. I also like Empires. I'm eating one of those right now.

|
engineered by the university of minnesota. wow. take the best parts of every good apple you've ever had, roll them all together, and multiply by 10. Wow. Oh, god... I want one right now!
Unfortunately, they're nearly impossible to find, and when I can they're EXPENSIVE (but well worth it)

I haunt apple stands and farmers' markets looking for these.
The taste is sooooo outrageous, and the apple is C-R-I-S-P.
Gotta get me some. Best Eating Apple Ever.
Some of the others up there in the poll are great for baking and cooking, and are my favorites for those uses. Like the Macoun. :)
