I nominate Roger Daltry for The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again" scream.

at the grammy's. If you're gonna attempt to pull it off, Melissa's the one to do it.

6. Yup, Daltry's is a classic, my top pick for the best of the best. |
|
The only one of the 'old' rockers who can still do it though is Steven Tyler. Man. Used to love Robert Plant's scream, but he could only do it for about 5 years; he'd pretty much lost it by the time I got to see Zeppelin in concert in 1977.
Yup. Roger it is.

I think that scream launched the heavy metal screamers. Led Zepplin was smart enough to see it, and run with it. Everyone came after that.

I've heard that song so many times, and I think he sang, "We don't get fooled again." And, yes, this borders on :tinfoilhat: .

That is the most awesome scream ever.
But, maybe I need to hear Don Brewer's scream in Paranoid by Grand Funk before I commit myself totally.

22. won't get fooled again is unbeatable, however, |
|
2nd place is up for grabs.
I'd say Jim Morrison has a good effort in "When the Music's Over."
David Lee Roth at 1:45 of "On Fire" gives a helluva scream.
(Jesus-Christ-on-a-trailer-hitch! While playing the songs of that album now, I ask you: was there ever a band on the attack like they were on that first album? I say thee nay!)
