How fast have you ever driven a car?
I took a Kia 105 in the desert (NV) before it started floating on me.

I took a Ford escort 115 downhill with tail wind in England (they don't enforce the speed limit).

I took a BMW about 90 when the MF governor kicked in.

45. The cop ones had a larger engine
It was so long ago I can't remember the details.

Mine was a stock model I inherited from my wife's grandfather, who had received it as a gift from one of his elderly neighbors in teh retirement community, who in turn had gotten it from their son who apparently ran whiskey in it or something and had modified it somehow. It frigging screamed. And you're right, it accelerated from 60mph like you had lit a rocket.

9. without adjusting for drag -
140+ in a 1984 Maserati Sebring. The speedometer only went to... LOL... 85 (it was the 80's afterall), but there were graduations between the 85 and 0 so you could, with a little simple math, calculate your speed because the needle would make two rotations around the speedometer face.

Man that was a fast fucking car.

the fastest i've driven a motorcyle is 95mph- and it's A LOT scarier than going twice as fast in a car.

It was a Ferrari we were hauling on the main deck of a 747 cargo plane. I got in it to look around, grabbed the wheel, and thought "I must have this baby up to around 600."

As soon as I got back up to the flight deck I confirmed my estimate.

I've had my Grand Prix GTP (3.8 L V6, supercharged) up to 105 before I had to lift off the accelerator (coming up on traffic), and that was ASCENDING a steep grade.

I recently had the opportunity to drive a new Porsche 911 C4, and had that up to a little over 100. I didn't even realize it at the time, but my passenger had to point it out. I would have pushed it a little faster, but I didn't want to frighten her.
