It moved me to tears and laughter and back to tears again.

Stunning! Hard to believe she is almost 56 years old! (Born April 21, 1949 according to internet sources!)

1. I'm jealous
she's one of my favorites.

2. She was just magnificent. I was surprised that she sang so many --

songs that I didn't know. Maybe it's a reflection on the fact that we haven't been to many of the new musicals.

I was disappointed in one thing -- she did not sing anything from "Evita" -- but there were a lot of favorites. She sang one about a mother and child on a carousel that was just beautiful. Haunting. She works with a pianist and a quartet -- three violins and a cello. Never saw that before, either.

Have you ever seen her on stage? What songs do you like? The couple behind us wanted her to sing "Alone Again, Naturally" -- and she did!

If you're interested, here's a link to an interview from the Portland Oregonian, prior to her opening:

3. no, I haven't
unfortunately. But one of my favorite CD's is a show of hers where she does a variety of songs from all the shows she's been in.

It's this CD:

They were selling her new album "Matters of the Heart" at the show.

Was there a track from "Evita" on that CD? Yes, there was -- on Disc 2! Thanks! :->

5. "Sand and Water" was one of the songs that made me cry --
Also "Look, Mummy -- No Hands" -- just beautiful.
