Anybody work for a Republican boss? |
|
Just wondering. If so, do you get into debates with them. Are they assholes?

... my entire company seems GOP-bent.
I have all kinds of commentaries (op eds, cartoons, gaphics) hanging all over my cube - they know where I stand, and don't broach the subjects.

3. Never, ever debate them. |
|
Its only a recipe for disaster. Especially if you say something that pisses them off and gets you fired, unless that is your goal.

Politics and Religion. My stepfather told me that a long time ago and he was dead right-except of course if everyone is pretty much in agreement in which case it is okay.

I used to field phone calls on the Customer Service Line from GOPAC and from Delay's group.....the solicitor on the other end of the line would always say that there was an emergency need for mony because"...the liberals are attacking....
There was one call about thaqt Business of the Year scam too...for a slight donation our company could be a Repub "Business of the Year".
There was no such thing as debating with the boss....he ruled by Divine right....was he an asshole? What do you think?

is Republican, nearly everyone else is Democrat. We actually do get into political debates. Thankfully, she's not a sheeple/fundie, but rather an old-definition Republican. Those I can sometimes actually stand.
That said, we still disagree and it's often her against everyone else, but the debates are always civilized and we walk away having learned something from each other. Quite refreshing, actually.

Claims to be a Democrat, but in his actual business practices, he doesn't practice what he preaches.

We don't often debate anymore, and he's stopped sending me all those ridiculous Emails since I had a tendency to hit Reply All and wasn't shy about what I thought of them. We both do woodworking in our free time, so we have plenty of non-political stuff to talk about. In fact, we usually talk shop for a good hour when I go into the office.

We had a loud one just before the invasion of Iraq that the whole office heard (I remember him telling me that it was like the early thirties and we needed to stop another Hitler. I told him I completely agree).
After the WMD thing turned out to be total bullshit, he lost all respect for Bush and Republicans.

This guy takes being the boss very seriously not that he is a bad boss just that he thinks that his word is gospel. It is very amazing to watch-the thought of being wrong or even appearing to not be in complete control is totally out of the question.
We actually had a bit of a political talk today and I caught him on something---He started to tell me about how people seem to think that their employer owes them something for working for the employer in fact it is the.... I stopped him "No it isn't Emloyers MAKE MONEY off their employees the employees don't owe them anything. Hell the employer can fire them tomorrow.
Oh..oh yeah that's right.

There's a Freeper in the office. They had the web completely locked down for months, because I checked in here while still getting my work done. I got a new computer recently and made myself the Administrator on it. I'm now streaming AAR, which makes their blood curdle.
