This is NOT what I had in mind for a study break... |
|
So...just a few minutes ago, "Wayne" and "Lisa" from the EC Hall of Jehova's Witnesses decided to come and try to speak the word of God via Isiah 65:15. What was I doing before that? Studying, of course. Applied Microbiology. I have a major exam on Monday.
What bugs me is this: if these two were to visit like they did, say, six years ago-I would have told these people to stuff it. Problem is, though, I have a life long glitch in social skills: given my choice of profession, I now have to practice a great deal of tolerance. Now more than ever. Eau Claire is up to the brim in Xtians. But most important: I can't go around being rude, getting mouthy with my patients, and co-workers. So I had to put on a happy face and act as though I really gave a shit about Satan testing Job's love of God.
I need more coffee.

1. it seems a little harsh |

to interrupt studies with preaching. i mean, do it outside in the open. it would be downright rude to walk into the law library here at stetson and start preaching to anyone in the bldg. during exam period even.

I think anyone has the right to set personal limits... Assertiveness doesnt' equate to intolerance. Tell 'em NOT NOW!!!!
