Is coral calcium another scam? |
|
My mother saw an episode of "Primer Impacto"(spanish programming) about coral calcium. I went looking through google and it looks like yet another scam.

dr. klapper, a doctor that focuses more on preventive and natural health care, hates coral calcium.
if you want to help boast calcium absorbtion, look for plant sources, kale and other leafy greens and take vitamin C. orange juice with calcium is perfect.
calcium from dairy products is probably the worst. the high fat and protein content actually leaches calcium from bones. sweden and america have the highest amount of dairy consumption and the highest rates of oesteoperosis. africa and asian, lower dairy consumption, lower rates of oestoperosis. something the dairy industry doesnt want you to know.

Working at a health food store, I can safely say that it's a scam. It's actually going to have a lot more random contaminants in it than calcium citrate (best absorbed kind). People go crazy for it though because it's on TV. I'm sure all the hype will die down soon. A couple months ago women's day wrote an article that if women started eating Zoe's Flax & Soy Granola they would lose weight from their hips & thighs. Suddenly, we couldn't keep it in stock. The manufacturer couldn't keep up with demand and in about a month after we were finally able to get them back in stock, nobody was buying Zoe's Granola again. Yeah, sure...eat this cereal and have a perfect body...idiots...
