Anyone else read the Star Wars III novelization yet? WARNING SPOILERS |
|
OK, so for anyone else who's read the story line, get the feeling that art is imatating life here?
I remember hearing somewhere that Lucas was basing the Star Wars Saga in some respects, upon WWII. I know that it goes as far as why the rebels have red lasers on their starfighters and the Imperials have green (that's a nod to the Pacific theatre: American warplanes used red tracers for their ammo, the Japanese used green.)
I don't know if this is accurate or not, having heard this so long ago, but I seem to recall Lucas wanting to base the Emperor's rise to power to be similar to Hitler's.
Well since everything old is new again do you suppose the RW will read too much into the story and think the whole movie is a personal attack on *?
Care to take any bets on the bloody melee that will ensue if the Rethugs start picking on the legions of Star Wars fans across the country?
"Mr. Hannity? There's a bunch of guys in white armor here to see you, apparently they didn't like your show today. Hey there's a really big guy in all Black, think he's got asthma, OOooohhh, Ooohn that's not RIGHT!"

1. It's way too subtle for the average freeper to get it |
|
It would be entertaining to see RW windbags self-destruct on-air over Star Wars though.

3. I think the bigger question is whether they'll jump on the 'clone' wars |
|
as an inevitability of stemcell research ;-)
